Flashcards are a great way to promote learning words for daily items!
Try to over exaggerate and pair gestures with all of the pictures used. For example, when looking at picture of a banana, produce, "nom nom nom nom" while pretend eating it, flower- pretend smell, car- "beep beep!", teddy bear- pretend hug, firetruck- "wee-oooh wee-oooh!" and etc. Better yet, if it is an item that you have at the house, go look for it and show your child that they are the same!
